Cresthaven Neighborhood Watch

Did you know Cresthaven has a NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM IN FORCE, but we need our neighbors help. Join us and Help Us Take a Stand Against Crime in our Neighborhood!

Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program, which enlists the active participation of residents in cooperation with local police to prevent and reduce crime in our neighborhood. Neighborhood Watch is residents not only knowing each other, but also taking the time to care about each other and work together in a program of mutual assistance. Neighborhood Watch is about crime prevention education and the implementation of important home and personal security strategies.

Community involvement is essential to combat crime. By cooperating with each other and the police, people can fight crime in their community in the most effective way—before it begins. Please schedule to attend the next following informative neighborhood watch meeting. During our meetings we review important information to help keep our cresthaven neighborhood safer.

What are my responsibilities as a Watch Member?

· Be Alert!

· Know your neighbors and watch out for each other.

· Report suspicious activities and crimes to the Broward Sheriff department. What activities should I be on the lookout for as a Watch Member? Someone screaming or shouting for help. Someone looking in windows of houses and parked cars. Property being taken out of houses where no one is at home or from closed businesses. Cars, vans, or trucks moving slowly with no apparent destination or without lights. Anyone being forced into a vehicle. A stranger sitting in a car or stopping to talk to a child.

· Report these incidents and Talk about concerns and problems with your neighbors.

· How should I report these incidents? Call 911 or??????????. Give your name and address. Explain what happened. Briefly describe the suspect: sex, race, age, height, weight, hair color, clothing, distinctive characteristics, i.e., scars, marks, tattoos. Explain the color, make, model and license plate of the suspect vehicle, if known.

· Attend Neighborhood watch meetings and work with neighbors to help keep our homes, property, and family safer.

· Where can I go for more information?
